Transport Challenges

 

Junction of Abbey Road and Marlow Road- mirror to see traffic coming from Bourne End.
Speed limit restrictions on School Lane (whole length of) please. (x2)
Re-surfacing Marlow by pass with quiet asphalt.
The size of Marlow road is a disgrace.
Too much traffic on A4155. (x6)
A zebra crossing on the main road at the end of Wendover road a good idea. (x3)
Greater encouragement for cyclists to use cycle path between Coldmoorholme Lane and Marlow by-pass.
Traffic management.
Traffic speed to Marlow.
More cycle routes.
Traffic speed near school and near Well End.
Traffic calming instead of traffic lights in Bourne End –this would prevent traffic build up.
Upgrade footpath to cycle way from Queens Head to Volvo Bridge. (x3)

When approaching La Farge from Marlow a warning of queuing traffic would be helpful.
Re-routing entrance to school lane near La Farge to improve cyclist and pedestrian safety.
Maintain footpaths parallel to Marlow by pass and towards Pump Lane North across Wood Barn Farm Land.
Speed limit on Elm Lane please-to Vineyard Drive at least.
Speed limit in Elm Lane also showing right of way on Hill in Chapman Lane.
Limit speed on main road.
Pedestrian crossing good idea.
Improve vision in Pump Lane North rapidly becoming single-track road where all elms encroach.
Speed and density of traffic on the Marlow Road a major problem. At times the road is barely crossable. (x4)

Very helpful and good rapport with Little Marlow parish council, approachability, and visibility. (x2)

Social Challenges

We would like a local history group to research the history of the parish. (x4)

Easier access to police i.e. why do we have to go through to Kidderminster when we need help in Little Marlow? (x2)

No unauthorised use of land or buildings when charge of use is required.
Any new office developments in the area must have sufficient car parking on site for their employees so that they don’t use local residential areas all day.

Farm shop is a great boon for the village. (x 10)

Wye Valley Volunteers.
Easy access to major road networks.

Environmental Challenges

Protect the lake area. (x3)
Pumping of water at sewerage works lowers water table resulting in Lake by Westhorpe Park being completely dry. No fish.  No ducks.
Japanese knotweed (taking over opp. Spade Oak pub).
Screen electricity sub-station in Coldmoorholme Lane.
Noise pollution from Jet Ski’s and motor cross and motor cross at Westhorpe and Flackwell Heath (Jet Ski’s can be heard 2 miles away at times)  (x 7)
CCTV camera in Cul de Sac in Pump Lane North to reduce or eliminate tipping.
Too much litter no adequate clearance.
Over population of rabbits –can this be addressed in some way? (x4)

Environmental Values

The walk along river is wonderful a pity there is not any free fishing for the youngsters of the area.
Good footpath network.
Cut grass verges in Pump Lane North and Monkton Lane outside bird breeding season.
Pumping of water by Thames has now virtually stopped.
Spade Oak lake nature reserve.
Path networks.
Beechwoods.
AONB.
River Thames.
The village is an area of tranquillity between the urban spreads of Bourne End and Marlow – lets keep it that way. (x11)
Rural aspects despite busy through road.
I very much appreciates the lane/access from the Queens Head to Westhorpe- it is a rural delight. (x2)
Rural footpaths. (x2)
We need more local control of planning, especially on major schemes from High Wycombe to Little Marlow.
The rural surrounding and mixed environment. (x3)
Overhead power lines provide rest sites for birds.

Leave Little Marlow the way it is. That’s why I live here. + 1 x I agree.

 We received 105 replies to the questionnaire delivered by hand to the 574 dwellings in the Parish. The response was just over 18% and may well be considered excellent when viewed in the light of a recent Wycombe District Council questionnaire, which elicited 159 responses from a 63,000 distribution.
